Celebrated bassist Adrian Kendon has led an impressive career on the UK jazz scene having been a member of the Bobby Wellins quartet as well as playing with the likes of such American greats as sonny stitt, Nat Adderley, Mark Murphy and Jimmy Cobb.
He recently formed a band to record his latest album featuring some of the original music he has written over the years plus some favorite jazz standards. As well as an established bassist he was at the forefront of Jazz education in the south of England and for 13 years he was leader of Jazz Studies at Chichester College. This new project includes several of his former pupils and the music off this latest album will have its first public outing at the Festival.
Adrian is a seriously swinging double bass player who has driven many different bands in the past and it will be a pleasure to hear his big toned sound at this years Festival.
