Sam Barnett is a 16 year-old musician playing alto & tenor sax, piano and is a composer. He has been playing professionally for 2 years in London and Europe. His awards include 2 EMI Sound & Music Foundation awards. Sam is a sponsored artist for Trevor James Saxophones as their first ‘Emerging Artist’ playing a customised RAW Tenor sax and alto. Sam will be performing with his Quintet in gigs including Love Supreme Festival (a highlight of his career so far), the closing act of the Young Synergy Festival, JazzFM sessions at The Cockpit Theatre with Jez Nelson and Chris Philips and a gig at the Verdict in Brighton. Sam will be taking up his degree place in Basel’s Jazzcampus in September 17 with tutors including Mark Turner. Sam currently attends the Royal Academy of Music Junior Jazz, bursary holder.
